Drone Team Twente 2023
Crowdfunding DroneTeam Twente 5.0
We are DroneTeam Twente, the first and only competitive student drone team in the Netherlands, working towards developing and applying drones for humanitarian aid. Our team of 26 international and interdisciplinary students is dedicated to creating fully autonomous drones that can deliver packages, even in locations that are difficult for aid workers to access quickly.
Our drone features a VTOL (‘vertical take-off and landing’) design, allowing it to land almost anywhere without needing a landing strip, which is usually not present in disaster areas. With fixed wings, the drone is aerodynamically optimized for horizontal flight, enabling it to
Equipped with a camera, our drone can map disaster areas, giving aid workers valuable information to better anticipate and respond to emergencies. Additionally, our drone is fitted with image recognition software that detects ground markers, enabling it to locate where it should deliver its package or relay emergency cases to aid workers, such as fires.
We are excited to put our drone to the test in the IMech UAS Challenge in England, where it will perform a humanitarian rescue mission in a simulated disaster area. We are also collaborating with RedCross South Africa to organize a real-time mission in South Africa, promoting innovation and making a real difference in people's lives.
Help us achieve our goal of advancing drone technology for humanitarian aid. Your support will enable us to make a tangible impact in disaster relief efforts around the world.
