Solar Boat Twente is Building the Motorboat of Tomorrow! 

This year, as the eighth team, we’re ready for the challenge. With a motivated group of 24 students from the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences, we’re doing everything possible to achieve our ultimate goal: Winning the Balaton Solar Boat Challenge in Hungary.

We’re not just building a solar-powered boat: we’re flying above the water at high speeds thanks to our hydrofoils. Our hydrofoils are controlled by a computer-driven system that no other team in the competition uses! This innovative system ensures effi cient control of our flight dynamics. It operates with an algorithm that fi ne-tunes our flight behaviour in real-time for maximum effi ciency. This system reacts much faster than a human ever could, enabling us to fl y faster, farther, and more effi ciently than ever before. This means we’re not only focused on speed but also on sustainability, environmental consciousness, and inspiring the maritime sector.
